“We often get doctors requesting for ‘paper white’ teeth, and I’m always thinking ‘that is unbelievably unnatural looking,’” writes a dental appliance technician. And this has become a trend for most celebrities.
The Kardashian-Esque Look
The Kardashians have set superficial beauty standards with their plump lips, Botox faces, and butt implants. Other users point out their Valley Girl accents. “They’d come across much smarter and classier if they spoke normally,” reads a post.
Cheekbone Fillers
One poster writes why they hate cheekbone fillers, “I am genuinely so confused why so many girls want to look like they have an allergic reaction. It’s painful to look at because it looks like their face is swollen.”
Sharp Jawlines
Some online users do not find sharp jawlines sexy. One user who has a sharp jawline says, “I grew a beard to hide my chin.” A different user responds, “I’ll add cheekbones to sharp jawlines. Cheekbones that stick out so much are scary.”
Drawn on Eyebrows
“They freak me out,” writes a commentator, “Why do they (the drawn eyebrows) always have to look surprised?” A few users are also not thrilled with hick, strong eyebrows on people born without them.
Thick, Fake Eyelashes
One commentator jokes, “Blink fast enough, and they (fake eyelashes) will start flying.” According to different users, thick, fake eyelashes look like insects, caterpillars, and tarantulas.
Orange Spray Tan
“I think it just makes people look dirty like they were outside in a dust storm and haven’t showered,” reads a post. But, apparently, orange spray tan is a thing in Ireland, Australia, and the UK.
Long, Pointy Nails
One commentator writes, “Long nails gross me out. I just think of how much dirt and grime is under them, and they are so impractical.”
Fake Butts
“It looks weird. It always looks disproportionate to the rest of the body, especially the legs,” explains a commentator. A different user narrates about a girl who underwent surgery to get fake butts, “She couldn’t sit down for 5 weeks. Then she gained weight and looked cartoonish.”
Large Breasts
What is the appeal of large, fake breasts? One user writes, “I always thought those perfectly spherical balloon boobs were the unfortunate result of cheap surgery gone wrong. It blew my mind to learn that people actually ask for it.”
Fake Big Lips
While some people consider big fake lips attractive, they are a turn-off for others. “Some (fake big lips) are so bad, they look like they tried to kiss a highly-powered vacuum cleaner,” reads a post.
Super Skinny
Another disturbing beauty standard is trying to become skeleton skinny, and it gets ridiculous to the point where people avoid eating to become super thin.
Meanwhile, some online users find overly muscled men or bodybuilders unattractive. “Many bodybuilders look straight-up deformed,” a user says.
Contouring
The last unattractive beauty standard is contouring. “It just looks caked on and overdone,” explains a commentator.
